The One With the Purple Glitter Nails

First off, I redid my blog layout! I was feeling inspired by my blue and orange nails. :)

Now onto the post!......Ever since I've started nail school I've been doing everyones nails. I feel like I do nails, go to sleep, wake up, and do nails again. Its a lot of fun but its so exhausting. Staring up close at little nails all day makes my eyes just want to close and take a nap! Haha. Especially with tiny, detailed nail art. Anyways, I've been taking lots of pictures so I would have a ton of things to post.

These are Gianna's nails from a few weeks ago. They are acrylic tips with glitter "Rockstar" Gel Nails. I posted about them back in April when I first learned how to do them. Now its become sort of my trademark and everyone wants glitter nails! I've gotten some requests on instagram to do a tutorial so that may be coming up soon :)

The cloudy day we were having really worked in favor of my pictures in this case. You can really see all of the color changes in the glitter!

Instagram Pic Time!

I've been using my new Olloclip lens for my iPhone to take some really awesome macro shots. It gets so close and show every little detail! If I didn't take the picture myself I would have never guessed it was taken on a phone.

The One With The Blue and Orange Nails!

Since I haven't been able to post frequently for the past month or so, I have a HUGE build up of pictures that need to be posted! For the next week or so I'm going to post as many as I can and hopefully Ill get caught up to date soon. Im going to challenge myself and see if I can blog everyday for the rest of the month. I miss blogging all the time so I am determined to make time for it!

First manicure up is blue and orange. I did this a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! This is one of my favorite color combinations. They always look great together! For this mani I used Chanel June and Models Own Balearic Cool.

I used 3 coats of each and topped it off with a layer of Poshe Topcoat.

The One With The 400 Follower Contest/Giveaway

Thanks so much for 400 followers! As all of you know, I love nail art. So what better way to celebrate than with a nail art contest!? I've been wanting to have one for a while but never found the right time until now!

The Prize?!

I've really been loving the new China Glaze Safari Collection. The winner of the Nail Art Contest Will receive any 3 colors of their choice from the collection!

The Theme?!

Safari of course! Anything Jungle/Safari/Animal inspired! Try and get creative with it. I love zebra and cheetah but if everyone paints zebra stripes on their nails its gonna get a little boring. I got the suggestion of some "Lion King" nails from one of my birthday club girls, Nini! Any kind of book/movie/song/tv show etc.. that has to do with the theme is great! I would even go as far as "Lost"...the island is kind of a jungle, right? haha It doesn't need to be literal, the more creative the better!

The Rules?!

-You can enter as many times as you like!

-You may use fake nails but all nail art must be done by you. No pre-bought press ons from etsy etc..

-No stamping.

-Acrylic paint is allowed.

-Any kind of embellishment such as studs, rhinestones, glitter, 3D nail art is allowed. However; no stickers or decals.

-Your design does not have to be new. It can be an old manicure you have done that corresponds with the theme.

-The contest is open internationally!

**Edit** You have until August 8 to complete your designs!

The One With The Italian Nails

So Sunday was opening day for the "Our Lady of Mt Carmel Feast"in Brooklyn. Every year in July they have a huge carnival/festival where they dance the Giglio. The Giglio is this hugggee 65 foot tall, 3 ton statue with a saint that sits on top. There is a platform where a band sits and 100 men carry it on their shoulders. They also carry a boat. The two statues start on opposite sides of the street and meet in the middle in front of the church. It's kind of hard to explain, you kinda need to see it so heres a video:

Two of my cousins lifted this year so the whole family went for Giglio Sunday. Besides the Giglio, theres a whole bunch of rides, games and booths full of food and all sorts of Italian paraphernalia. My nails need to join in on the festivities as well.

And heres some pictures that I took. (As you can probably tell, I hate being in pictures..I just take them...hahaa)
